Our guide Amos asked us to take a photo of this sign above a shop. We asked him for a translation. See below -- as Amos and his wife said it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

We saw the limestone hill, (Skull Hill) which many revere as Golgotha, site of the crucifixion, today it is just behind the bus station.
The Garden Tomb – the large patch of brick-work to the right of the doorway is where they have had to reconstruct the wall, since excavation. They have not found the stone that would have covered the doorway, although they did have a smaller one on display. There is a box just outside the tomb, to aid people in stepping inside. But we were told that the gulley between the tomb and that small wall is where the stone would have been placed.

City of David

Before entering Hezekiah’s tunnel we took a photograph of the City of David;
This remarkable structure - Hezekiah's tunnel -hid Jerusalem’s water supply from the Assyrians and thus saved the city from destruction. We actually walked the Canaanite tunnels as they are dry and Hezekiah’s tunnel has water often knee deep.
We don't have photos inside the tunnel - it took about 40 mins to walk through

Holiday in Jerusalem

Hi to all the family,

Dad & I have had a good holiday - I think that I will write up some notes in word and add photos for our two days and then post to each of you

Our home for the week in Carmarthenshire

This log cabin had two bedrooms and bathroom plus an en-suite. with a living room, divided from the kitchen/diner by some of the kitchen units. We had some lovely weather throughout the week.

Trip to West Wales.

Dad & I are off on holiday as you may remember this Saturday. We are taking Nan & Grandpi to Carmarthen where we will visit with Sally and family as well as Aunty Betty & Uncle Alan (my Dad's sister & husband) Some of you will remember meeting with them at Kelly's baptism, which was the last time that Dad met with them as well - I guess this next week maybe the last time they will see each other. Grandpi is not feeling well, he seems to be in continuous pain and his memory seems to get worse each week
